SO NEEDED!! GREAT WORK LUBUNTU TEAM!!
would be great if it could be launched from pcmanfm (tools menu, contextual menus, Ctrl-F or F3 key...)
Using Lubuntu 11.10...Installed lxfind using terminal as per instructions...I ended up with a program called Lxfinder...It didn't work at all so I removed it via synaptic...Tried catfish but it seems kind of lame too...Is there anything better out there for finding files on Lubuntu?Thx
I don't really understand what happens. The app is called LxFind, not LxFinder (at least on Oneiric and Precise), and works great for me.Catfish also works fine, when using the "locate" mode. But if you want to try something more advanced you can try "gnome-search-tool", but has heavy Gnome dependencies (such as Nautilus and gnome-session) It's very fast, but when it opens something it may load the Nautilus desktop.I hope this helped.
Same problem here:I installed via terminal with the instructions above and have LxFinder, which actually does not find anything.I just hate ending up in that kind of situations where things just don't work!
Your frustration is perfectly normal. I've checked the Lubuntu Desktop PPA, and LXFind is there.Just repeat the commands, now recitifed in two lines (because of some password issues), one for adding the PPA and another for updating and installing the package. It worked for me.If it still doesn't work, please write again and I'll ask the PPA owner about the problem.
