Box support for MATE

The Box theme support continues growing, covering more and more environments. Now we're celebrating that the MATE desktop environment, a GTK3 fork of the traditional Gnome2, will have its own Ubuntu flavour, named Ubuntu MATE Remix. Once tested, I noticed I missed something familiar, our beloved Lubuntu spirit on it. So here begins the (experimental) theme support. It'll be available to download soon.

Edit: It's available now! Get it while it's hot at Artwork section!

  1. I'm using Ubuntu MATE Remix right now. Glad to see more themes starting to appear for it.

  2. I'm still waiting to see if a Box theme appears for KDE :)
Maybe with LX-QT you'll be a step closer, as you'll need a Qt theme anyway.

  3. @Luis, yes, I'm on it. But as things change from one day to another, I must wait until it gets a bit more stable. The we should use on every QT desktop, I guess.

  4. You're seemingly confusing Mate (Gtk2) with Cinnamon (Gtk3).

  5. Nope: http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/status:gtk3

MATE is going to GTK without any doubt. GTK2 is already an obsolete widget engine.

I must admit, come components, like Caja or Mate-Panel, are still working with GTK2, but hit is changing. Ubuntu will get theese updates very soon.
